Enjoy! I don't remember exactly how I stumbled onto Humble Bundle ; it probably came up in one of the forums or newsgroups I read. However it happened, I arrived just in time to purchase their Dungeons & Dragons digital comic book bundle. The bundle included the complete runs of the Advanced Dungeons &Dragons and Forgotten Realms books that DC Comics published in the 80s and 90s. It hadn't really been on my radar at the time; I was mostly into superhero books. At the moment, though, I was craving good fantasy adventure and wanted something to go along with our current D&D campaign. Good value, good cause, great buy. Now that season one of Supergirl is in the books, and the initial back and forth over the merits or crimes present in the film  Batman v. Superman: the Dawn of Justice  has died down, I have an observation I wish to share: The best presentation of Superman on screen today is in  Supergirl . There.  I said it. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the near-mythical blur that pops up every so often to prove the Man of Steel exists in this universe, or exchanges text messages with his cousin is what many die-hard Superman fans have been clamoring for. Nope. The best Superman on screen is, in fact, Kara Zor-El, Supergirl herself. Why do I say these things? Well, okay, nothing quite so dramatic, but it did jump to the very top of my Favorite Comics list right then and there, forcing a reluctant  Superior Spider-Man  to a close but still second position. Before you go totally  TLDR  on me ;-) , an audio version of this review is available as well, as a podcast entry for the   Spiritblade Underground Podcast . The Superior Spider-Man  is a new series and part of the Marvel Now universe, following right after #700 of the previous volume,  The Amazing Spider-Man . Spider-Man has never been my favorite superhero. The movies with Toby Maguire were kind of okay I guess, but definitely no more than that, although I have to admit I really do like the  new  movie franchise with Andrew Garfield playing the webslinging hero. It's especially the Spidey  comics  however that were never able to grab me. Whenever I encountered him in other Marvel titles, I found Peter Parker (and his superhero alias) too "teenagey", often childish even.
