    Paeter, "women in refrigerators" is not just about a story disrespecting or poorly using women. It is about women being harshly used (raped, killed, depowered, crippled) specifically as a tool to drive a man's story forward. The woman is not a significant character on her own, has no arc or no agency, but exists primarily (solely at times) to motivate the male lead.
